About

I’m a school teacher that secretly aspires to be a restaurateur. Do I necessarily want to slave away in a hot restaurant kitchen?? Ummm…no. But do I want to share my cooking with the world (that’s being a bit lofty) and have people try my recipes?? Yes! 🙂 This is why I started this blog…If you enjoy dry sarcasm, self-deprecating humor, food, and a touch of sassiness then you’ve hit the jackpot! I also enjoy dining out and attending food events around the country–sometimes I post about that as well.

In addition to constantly eating, I am a huge music lover and love discovering new music so maybe you hate to cook and we can talk music instead! Sometimes I’m a bit over the top, I like to make people laugh by being silly, I’m obsessed with my wiener dog (Stella), I have a huge fear of spiders, I speak Italian fluently, and I grew up on an island.

I love cooking and entertaining for friends. I hope that you enjoy my recipes/tips/posts/etc. and please feel free to comment and ask me questions. I’m a teacher, I love questions. If there is anything you’d like to see or have any suggestions, please let me know! This is a learning process for me and I hope you’ll come along for the ride.

Buon appetito!

–Melissa

You were my Italian professor about a million (or was it 10?) years ago at FSU. I’m a huge foodie and love cooking, and am so loving seeing all of your recipes – I have a fam member in MIA who suggested I take a look at your blog. Small world!
